Counterfactual methods in evaluation - training in Rzeszow
We have trained participants of the 6TH Evaluation Conference in Podkarpackie.
We are pleased to inform that on May 9, 2014 IDEA Foundation carried out a training for the participants of the second day of evaluation conference in Rzeszów. The training was focused on use of the counterfactual methods in evaluation.
The aim of those workshops was to equip its participants with knowledge about counterfactual methods and techniques applied in public interventions evaluation, including in particular support for SME’s. Participants of the workshops have learnt about:
1. Evaluation assumptions and techniques related to counterfactual approach.
2. Methods and techniques that might be used to assess results of SME’s-oriented programmes and projects, in particular:
a) general assumptions
b) pros and cons as well as potential limitations
c) data requirements in evaluation using counterfactual methods
d) possible legal and administrative limitations.
3. Preparation of evaluation using counterfactual methods, including preparation of public procurement documentation.
4. Use of theory based impact evaluation, that enables practical use of counterfactual evaluation results.
The training was prepared and carried out by our experts – Rafał Trzciński and Stanisław Bienias and was well received by the participants.
