Counterfactual methods in evaluation - training in Torun for Evaluation Steering Group

On 24-25 November 2015 our experts, Stanislaw Bienias and Rafal Trzciński, provided training on counterfactual methods and techniques used in evaluations of public interventions.

The training was organized for the members of the Steering Group of Evaluation of the Regional Operational Programme Kujawsko-Pomorskie 2014-2020. It covered the following issues :

• Logic and assumptions of counterfactual evaluations;
• Methods and research techniques that can be used to estimate the effects of the programs and projects;
• Designing evaluations based on the use of counterfactual methods;
• The use of theory based impact evaluation.
